Astrid Gilmore: Timetraveler
Made with Procreate
The documentation of the curious Astrid Gilmore. This project explores what a time-traveler would wear jumping through space and time. This gave the opportunity to explore many different genres of costume. Thus, Astrid Gilmore was born.
Sci-fi: 2532
This futuristic look is a fusion of cyberpunk and battle angle. Bringing cyberpunk elements like neon glow and circuits as well as wings and a sword for "avenging". The initial sketch for this piece is very different in contrast to the final.
1940's Film Noir
This concept was actually a last-minute decision in the lineup. The original concept was your "cookie-cutter fantasy" design. That concept just wasn't cutting it though, after much brainstorming a stroke of luck brought 1940's film noir.
The Golden Age of Piracy
This was the concept that started it all. Captain Astrid Gilmore of the Golden Sparrow. Something about this daring captain was so charismatic, she practically drew herself sometimes.
Victorian Steampunk
This was my favorite concept to illustrate, out of all the prosthetic leg designs this one was so fun and whimsical. The genre of steampunk leaves a lot of room for interpretation. this left room for creative liberty in the costume design.
Viking Era
This concept is the most intricate of them all. between the ax engravings and the braids, this piece took the longest to illustrate. To keep it from being too busy, the clothes were left fairly simple.
